In the latest paper from the Sportsology Research Academy, Professor Chris Brady examines the gap between the collection of data and the communication and application of the insights contained within it.
The key issue, Brady argues, is that there is a missing link between those who gather and understand the data, and those responsible for implementing changed based on the findings. To bridge that gap, organizations need to find people who can act as intermediaries between the data scientists and the management leaders; two roles with often mutually exclusive skill sets. If organizations can find these ‘Data Translators’ then there is considerable competitive advantage to be gained.
